57 Voyager

Postby Happyours » June 2nd, 2018, 8:57 am

I am trying to find the weight rating for cradle on the flybridge. I currently have a dinghy that weighs 500 pounds and looking at a new one that is 680 pounds (total weight including fuel)
Thanks

Welcome to the forum....hopefully someone with your model can chime in with some info for you.....maybe a call or email to Carver and run it by them.....they should have the engineering specs for the load capabilities of the hardtop I would think....good luck with it.....nice boat..
The above is strictly my opinion.

I was involved in re-coring that area on a 2002 Voyager 57. There are aluminum beams in the core. Had to confirm with Carver regarding the capacity because of what we found and wanted to find out whether the owner's dinghy was too heavy. According to Carver, the capacity for that vessel was 600lbs. I'm pretty sure the dinghy was less than that but previous owners had not fastened or sealed some hardware properly. Between that and flexing from the weight, there were several areas with pretty bad gel cracks and the core was mush from water intrusion.
