fuel shutoff valves 97 355

Postby essikr » June 28th, 2013, 9:47 pm

Where are the fuel shutoff valves located? Twin 456 gasoline engines 1997 Carver 355.
The fuel gauge switch toggle between starboard and port plus aux tanks. How do you read the aux tank level.
Thanks for your help.

On my '99 404 the fuel gage on one side of the dash is for the saddle tanks and the gage on the other side is for the aux tank. Each gage has a related switch to get a reading. As for the fuel cutoff valves mine are on the bulkhead forward of the engines next to the Racors.

That explains the fuel gauges, thanks. Now if I can just find the fuel shutoffs. I have looked in all the places you would expect them to be.

Not familiar with a 355, but can you get into the engine room and follow the fuel lines back? First termination after the filter back to the tank should be the valves.

fwiw - both my 1988 28 Aft and my 89 42 aft had no shut offs. My 87 36 has them but you have to get down in the engine room to see them / reach them.
Thanks

I had a 96 355 and e fuel shutoffs were under a hatch in the salon floor, just to the left of the stairs as you enter the cabin, all the way aft. A corner of the sofa sits on it1--kind of a pain
