Did you attempt to lift the window up, until the lower part of the glass is above the track and then remove the glass from the track by pulling it upward and out. I am not sure that you need to remove the frame to get the window out. Any sliding windows I have removed, the glass will come out of the track. Sometimes it is a struggle but with patience it should come out.
Give it a try.
