I have a 2003 Carver Mariner and I am trying to figure out which battery or batteries power the bow thruster. on my previous boat I had a separate battery in the main salon to provide power. I just got this boat and all the other items are all good on start up except the thruster which sounds like a dead battery. thx in advance RJ

My 04 Mariner BT is powered by the dual house batteries. Yours could be too or have a separate battery. If you can't trace the cable to determine which battery, and if all other systems are running fine, then check for all breakers and fuses to see if the BT was tripped or shut off for the winter. For example, I turn my BT breaker to off in the fall before haul out, to avoid any damage or potential injuries should someone activate the BT switch out of water.
Tip: when you figure this out, get a label maker and label everything. I did and it is very helpful as the season goes by and/or I need to manage, batteries. I also have a stern thruster on a dedicated battery. Lots of breakers and switches everywhere. Labels sure help.

While hooking up to an existing house bank makes for an easy install, and at factory cuts costs, ideally, thrusters should be on a dedicated bank and they should be crank batteries.
