Replacing 1989 Aft Cabin 3207 Twin 5.7 exhaust lines

Postby Chiefshack » August 20th, 2018, 3:52 pm

I recently bought our 1989 Carver Aft Cabin 3207. As a retired Navy BT Chief I feel obligated to go through the engine room inch by inch. As good engineering practices dictate I am replacing all rubber exhaust lines.
My question is there a Vendor who sells preformed flexible rubber exhaust lines specifically for a 1989 Carver Aft Cabin with twin Merc 5.7 liter engines?
Thank you ahead of time,
Chief Shack

I've yet to see a "flexible" exhaust hose! They don't bend too easily. If yours are anything like the ones on any of my Carvers I've had over the years, you start with a straight piece and get mad. Then it all fits.

Good Luck!
Thanks

I've never seen preformed exhaust hose like you would find with engine hoses to accommodate a particular setup from the engine to the exhaust outlet on the hull. There are preformed rubber pieces like elbows, etc. but most use fiberglass. You could use silicone exhaust hose, it's much more flexible and way easier to install.
