Insulation

Postby PAULDOC » May 11th, 2021, 6:57 pm

Hi All,
I have a lot of black stuff lying loose behind both gas tanks. Looks like flaked off insulation to me. Any suggestions as to what
I should do. 83 2807 Aft Cabin.

Is your boat in the water ? Reason I ask is have a look for evidence of critters....may just be the insulation behind the tank straps but have a close look with a bright light for black hoses, plastic etc.

Has it just appeared ?
The above is strictly my opinion.

I had an 83 3607 and in the last 10 years a lot of the engine room compartment sound deadening foam started breaking down and falling off. Every year I'd get out the shop vac and clean up as much as I could, and every year I'd think there wasn't any left but some would still show up later.
