Carver Salon Table/Bed Conversion Issue

Hello,
I'm looking for some guidance to the salon table dropping down for the cushions to fit as a sleeping area on my Carver 350. Can you provide any help with how the table lowers enough to fit into the edges of the seat frame so I can place the designated cushions down? Logically, it looks like I just loosen the screw that adjust the height of the table and then drop it down, but when I do this the table doesn't go down far enough to seat in the correct location. Another member said he removes the shaft of table all together, but mine is mounted to underside of table which doesn't seem to be the answer. Any feedback would be welcomed. Thank you

Inspect where the support mounts to the table bottom........is it still screwed directly to the bottom or has a support piece been added between the table bottom and the support leg.....maybe 3/4 ply.Can you still adjust the table height when in normal use? Factory was direct.

That was a very weak point as the mounting screws pulled out of the particle board, I had to reinforce that area with ply so the table didn't really fit all the way down right without some more engineering help......

Did you verify that there is nothing under the floor blocking the pole from going all the way down?
Mine goes into a storage area under the table and if there is stuff stored in there, it can block the pole from going all the way down.

I threw out those poles and installed a lift like in an RV. much more stable and way less hassle to lift/drop. Just as difficult to slide to sit so no negatives found yet.

Doesn't help you really does it...

I'd reinforce both sides of those pole mounts I you're fond of them. Add small supports on the short end where it touches the wall (if your lay out is like mine) to give the stress from leaning on the table some way out rather than the mounts under the top.

As rocket man mentioned, check underneath for stored items or something that was changed from the factory.
Your water heater and salon air conditioner are under there but should be well out of the way for the post to drop.
There is a bunch of extra space for things to be stored. Check it out.

Thank you all for replies. Yes, it looks as though there is plywood decking to reinforce and table can't go all the way down. Time to get creative as I'd like to use this area as another bed as it was intended.

Can you shorten the pole by the thickness of the plywood reinforcement? Net height would then be original?
