Access to Anchor Locker/Waste Line 1990 3467/38/380 Santego

Postby mikeo1 » November 28th, 2024, 3:44 pm

Looked at a LOT of boats--deliberately bought a Carver

So boat is new to me and I'm trying to get her back in shape

Can't figure out how to actually get into the anchor locker in my 1990 3467?? There's a mirror above the berth that pulls away to reveal an opening which gives you a look in but a large cat couldn't fit thru it and it has a cross member right in the middle as well. Can't locate a deck side access--feel as though I'm missing something that's going to embarass me when it's pointed out.

Need to replace deck side waste flange and cap (stripped/cracked) so need to get at the waste hose connection on inside (don't want to chance loosing the WASTE hose by trying to pull from the topside) and would like to have a look at the chain condition while I'm in there (before deploying it).

Also only have an owners manual for a 380; have spent a fair amount of time looking for the rreal 90 3467 manual including this forum with no luck. Anyone HAVE or know if there was actually a 3467 manual? would really like to have prints/layouts/drawings
I know 38/380 is similar but know that it is different as well.

Anchor Locker Access? Actual 3467 Owners manual? Would be very much appreciated--Thanks

Do you have a windlass ?....

I think the access point is where you were.....just a hole thru the deck for the rode. Although I had one boat with no windlass and no hole in the deck to feed the rode into the locker.

If you want to check the chain then a good idea is to run it all out onto the dock to check it, while it is there it can be laid out to paint mark depths on it and untwist it, some different colors for certain depths.

I am sure someone with the same boat can help with this in more detail.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.....

mikeo1, that opening behind the mirror above the forward berth is your access to your locker. There is no deck side access except for the hole in the deck for the rode to pass though. I have 300 feet of chain rode within my anchor locker, but then i have a 3867 Santego.

Access to your hose for the waste flange will be under the bed in the forward state room, and then you can follow it up between the inside wall and hull to the deck. Hope your a small person, because it will be a tight fit as there quite a bit of stuff in there. like your forward a/c unit and water heater. you cannot access it from the anchor locker.

With reference to the owner's manual, the 380 is the same boat at the 3467. The name just changed after 92 when the original 38 or 3867/640 was discontinued. So I doubt you would find very little difference between a manual for an 89 3467 and a 95 380 as their basically the same boat with some minor cosmetic differences.

Good luck and happy to see another Santego owner here. Let us know if we can provide any more assistance :usa:
