Someone else on here may know that boat’s specifics but more perspective may help here….what fill cap is nearest to it? Fuel, water?

Things can change drastically over time with years of previous owners....my advice, don't assume anything, follow the tubing/hose that is attached to the back side to see where it goes/is attached to. You will have to assess the condition of all this equipment anyway just to be safe.

Those vent fittings and similar ones could be used for venting any tank but are a must for venting fuel tanks. If they are being used for the fuel tank/s it must have the screen in each hole. I see a screen in one of the holes but not the other. If a screen is missing, you should replace the fitting, it's a safety concern to minimize the chances of explosion from an external spark igniting the vapors.
