having always owned stern drives I wouldn't know a V-drive if it bit me... any chance you can point me to some pics somewhere showing the difference? The boat we're looking at is a 310... the occasions I've had to look in the bilge appeared to have a gear box underneath the motor, not at either end?
The easiest way to tell if it has a V-drive is to look at the engine. If the "front" on the engine is facing the "rear" of the boat, then there must be a V drive in there to turn things around.
