2002 Carver 346 6.2 MPI spark plug gap

Postby Pha8 » April 4th, 2025, 11:56 pm

Manuel says spark plug gap should be .045 the cover on top of the engine says .060? NGK BPR6EFS Any thoughts on which gap I should go with?

That is confusing for sure......Are both the cover and manual referring to the same NGK plug or any brand ?
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.....

The cover lists AC, but the manuel lists AC (same plug) ,NGK, or Champion.

If it were me and the engines were performing just fine , I would just replace the plugs with the same make and range of what is already in there. You can check the gaps and the burn etc when you take the old plugs out, they will be close enough to get the idea what gap and range is working for your engines and the way you use them.

Personally I would just stick around .045" or so for the standard type plugs and that ignition type......IMO
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.....
