I have a leaking seal and want to know if I have to pull engine to remove and repair?
Has anyone here done this? I have 1998 Mariner. Transmission is 10-18-002 ratio 1:1

These are V-drives right? I don't remember when the design changed from the older straight drives. IIRC you can access the trans from the hatch opening in the salon. You'll need to support the rear end of the engine, as the two rear "engine" mounts are really on the trans, but that's do-able a couple different ways.

Different design KM, no salon access, newer ones have the liftable steps, thats it.
How bad is the leak, did it start after a fluid change ?, sometimes the right fluid with a seal conditioner can swell those output shaft seals up a bit. I know they had recalls years back and an improved lip seal. Good luck, hope someone can chime in who has had this done. Just thought I would mention the fluid, as I went thru the same thing, just never got to pulling everything.

FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.
