black smoke exhaust

Postby outtoc » November 20th, 2024, 8:25 am

year 2000 carver 450 voyager pilothouse year 2000 tamd 74P low has boost black smoke starboard side only. port side approx 35psi boost starboard side approx 25psi boost. clean air filters swapped ECMs, no leaks. i think either wastegate or turbo issue. if not the turbo i assume next step is to clean charge air cooler. Is there anything else i should check?

You may have come across this but just a little info that may help.

https://www.sbmar.com/articles/boost-eg ... ed%2Fboost.
The above is strictly my opinion.
