87 Carver Montego 32 A/C Not Working

Hello Everyone!

I'm new to the group and this is my first post:-). AC NOT working. Worked perfectly fine.... I came in from a cruise one day and nothing. The Pump is not working and the unit is not powering on. The only thing the powers on is the control unit (red Indicator light) illuminate when you turn the A/C on. Of course I checked the breaker, but does anyone know if this unit has a fuse separate from the breaker?

since you made no mention of what ac manuf. you have on your boat. If it worked prior to your cruise might have gotten a air lock in tje water pump and when you came back in it could have powered up not pumped any water and then the compressor high pressure switvh may have kicked it out to protect itself. There will be some reset for this pressure switch near the compressor. May want to check this. You shouldnt have to worry about any air because it should be set up to keep the pump primed but you never know. May give us some more info on your unit also..

I would definitely check to make sure the A/C seawater pump did not lose prime. That will keep it from working. Depending on what thermostat you have if its electronic it should display a code that might help you figure out what is wrong.

Thanks for the info... I'm going to start with that... It's a pretty old unit.. Marine Air Systems Model# V16K-H 16,000 BTU
