New to the site....We're looking at a '94 37 that has pitting around each exterior window trim. The trim appears to be aluminum. Is this common? What is the fix and why did it do this in the first place?
We really like the boat but the paint has come off and the pitting really detracts from the rest of the boat. How labor intensive is it to get it back to normal?
The boat has been boat house kept in the Northwest nearly its entire life.

Most likely, the pitting is from the salt in the air from the salt water. The aluminum isn't just trim, it's the actual window frame. Not too common of a problem in freshwater areas like where I am, but really common (for any brand with aluminum window frames) in saltwater areas. Best cure is either have sand blasted away, or sand away, prime with a corrosion resistant primer, and repaint.

We are debating the cost of replacing the windows all together. Has anyone done this and can you recommend a supplier-preferably in the PNW?
