Hi need some more info. What kind of ac and model of ac? Age? What's the issue?
Most likely won't be worth replacing compressor or pcb be better to replace with new unit and have a warranty. But hard to say without some more info.

If the compressor failed electrically (shorted to ground) you are better off replacing the complete unit. The acid created by burnt oil and refrigerant residue from the failed compressor will significantly shorten the life of the new compressor. Its not cost effective to attempt to clean up such a small system.

would be curious what your symptom is with yours. replacement unit thats going to bring out some different ideas of whats best. probably get lots of suggestions on what to get. i've purchased these for different boats currently have 2 on mine now. i like mermaid manufacturing ac units they have a 5 year warranty use more common parts than some companies no specialty control pcb depending on the thermostat you choose. post warranty repair can be done by a general hvac tech doesnt have to be a boat hvac tech. marinewholesalers has good pricing on them.

The marine air looks good but ideally i like to use my IMP wall controllers

A new unit should come with a new controller. After 12 years, even if you by the same brand you have, there is a good chance your existing controller will not be compatible.
