Clean up

Hey guys!!! Heading to the boat this week-end to wake her up. Need to clean and buff the boat complete. I bought yesturday 3m Super compound, 3m Finesse polish and 3m marine wax. This better work. I was thinking about the ceramic coating instead of the wax but chickened out. Any thoughts before I head out this week-end? Thanks in advance.

No experience here with the ceramic coatings but I have the same project planned for the next few weeks so I look forward to hearing how this goes for you, please post before, after, progress!

What kind of machine are you planning to use?

You " da man "..... all that in one weekend is quite an accomplishment.....I think you chose wisely about the coating... .....I will be paying the marina this year, just cant do that job anymore.....looks like it may be a nice weekend for it, have fun......

I'm still ripping the kitchen apart but after the long weekend my first trip to the boat will happen. I am also getting too old to do the wax thing or maybe I should say the boat got too big. Got enough projects going on to keep me rather busy for quite some time. Good luck on your waxing and keep us posted.

Yep! Excellent choice for the buffing project. That boat is going to shine so bright, you're gonna need sunglasses. Anyone notice how big these boats are when we are prepping? Wish they stayed the same in the water, but they shrink. Don't forget the Aleve for those aching muscles and joints. Maybe a good time to call the people who ask you to take 'em for a cruise in season. They probably want to help you with the project. Good luck. Not really, at least for me. Seems like the 1st half takes no time at all and the 2nd half takes at least twice as long. I think it's actually a logarithmic scale though. Seems like that last little bit take the longest and I have to force myself to not take shortcuts to 'knock it out'!

Is your haul that bad that you feel you have to use a three step process? Wouldn't 3M Restorer Wax or 3M Cleaner Wax have done the job? One step and your done! It's a fine job when you start out a couple feet at a time and then you get to that bow and go damn this is big! Good luck! Hope it goes well!
