I am NOT bragging but.............

Post by tonyiiiafl »

Did Y’all see what I got today? Now I need to upgrade to Axiom Pro and have it installed. I want it to be full integrated so it may be worth the $1200.00 installation.

I have the Evolution and an eS127 and just moved to Lighthouse 3. I like the new software. It is much more intuitive than the old. The autopilot software is pretty much the same as before. I did the install myself for that plus a Raystar 130, a Quantum radome, new radio, I70s and p70r. I also added a Fox MEFI engine reader.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out.

I wished I could upgrade my e127/e97 but it does not have memory to upgrade to Lighthouse 3. So installation was THAT easy? Tell me more. How plug and play was it?

Whats your thoughts on your fox mefi reader. I wondered about putting on my 1997 405 with crusader xli 454s but I don't think there's that much info coming out . I think I have mefi 1.

First,

I developed a diagram of an updated Raymarine system. Then I passed it by the moderators on the Raymarine board. It is important to have the diagram exactly right.

Then, I measured for space, wire lengths, and power sources. I was lucky in that I had a 5 circuit breaker panel on the fly bridge that was being used. It had two extra slots in it I could use for the radar and the autopilot, and used slots for the old MFD, instrument, and vhf.

I added two Fox MEFI’s for the engines, and off I went.

You want the rudder sending unit if possible for the autopilot. That is a more precise setup than using just the magnet to steer by. The hydraulics were probably the biggest concern I had, but had a mechanic who didn’t blink cutting and reattaching the hoses. After powering it on, we were “on the road” with it and haven’t looked back.

It provides the rpm’s and fuel flow per engine. The Fox MEFI Bluetooth app provides more, a ton of engine info. The next time I am on the boat I will snap a screenshot of everything it provides and place it here.

Nice......do you already have a back bone on your boat or is that part of the install ?
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

I already have the pump installed as I have an old Ray 650. I installed my two MFD with the Ray 130 GPS antenna and a B744 transducer. the 2 MFD’s share the resources and work great! I would say I just add the autopilot into the system. I also have the rudder angle sensor installed, so I think I could just swap these out and use the old wiring?
