406 - travel lift or trailer haul out

I agree completely.....have seen an over 50' boat in a travel lift with only two single slings and they were ok with it... :-O


All boats our size have dedicated sling areas indicated by small decals. Never seen 3 places to sling a boat in fact never saw a 3 sling travel lift. However we do not have vey large boats in our area. Does not mean they do not exist though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkXb6_qQtE0

At the lift sling attachment points, you will see that there are provisions for double sling at the forward and aft locations....spreads the load......more like this.... :-D

Two slings on a 60 foot boat is just fine. Doubling up is better for capacity while utilizing smaller pumps (pulley principles) and distributes the weight better than singles but not mandatory or scary IMO. Some lifts rated for boats much larger than that are designed with just 2 slings. Of coarse there does come a length beyond which two slings wouldn't support enough of the hull and would stress the hull's design limits.
