Its a very solid structure. I'm sure they say it wont take any weight for liability reasons.

[img]No problem with the weight as the others have mentioned. I run a ladder from the swim platform up to the hard top and secure it to the had rail across the stern. I too started wearing a harness connected to the lifting eyes. Since you are waxing and creating quite a slippery surface it sure seems like the right thing to do as its about 23' down from the top to the cement floor below. Also note that the radar arch is painted aluminum not gelcoat so don't go at it with a heavy buffing compound.

After 40+ years as a police officer, I have spoken to many that have fallen from ladders and roofs. Some not able to speak. Those that could speak had no intention of falling off the roof/ladder either. Please be careful, a good harness is about $150.00. JMO, sorry to be a nag. :-D

I asked this specific question today to a broker, his reply was that "you can stand on it but just keep in mind that its cantilevered out with no aft supports so keep your weight further in".

It makes sense if you look at the structure from underneath to see where to stand. I sent him up there to prove it and he weighs about 200 lbs. Access is addressed with this ladder that was added...

Ladder is interesting, haven't seen that before. That will make access very handy, especially with the hard top.

man... That ladder is an interesting addition! if nothing else, you could easily get up there and wash it and NOT need to stand on it very often at all! Hmmmmm... you have me thinking now!!

The ladder is interesting...if you notice, the first rung is set up high, it takes either a step ladder or some acrobatics from the step to get to it. It is a maintenance ladder, the rung height keeps little kids from scaling it. Makes access to the radar switch easy too.
