engine hatch tape

Post by Ross »

I need to replace the rubber gasket/ tape that is stuck to the underside of the engine hatch covers and generator, but am a pretty new boat owner. Suggestions on tape? Flat or slightly round? Manufacturers?

Depending on the size you need, I found some really nice self-stick foam that was automotive-rated at Home Depot. I used it on the compartment for my PWC and it seals really nice and keeps everything dry even when you're burying the nose in a wave. I was very impressed with it. I'll see if I still have the info on it.

Ross I called Carver and they gave me the manufacturer and product number for that part. I don't recall the vendor but was able to buy direct from the company.
