Gasoline fume sensor... do you have one?

Anything related to the operation of your boat. Steering, Bilge Pumps, thru-hulls, bottom paint, etc.

Gasoline fume sensor... do you have one?

Post by km1125 »

1st question... do you have one on your boat? I'm surprised how many gas boats don't have them.

The real question is what ones should I consider if I replace the ones I have?

Mine are originals so they are approaching 40 years old. I replaced the sensor element quite a while ago and they have always worked when I've tested them but the displays are getting worn and faded.

I have a dual station, so the system would have to accommodate two displays.

Offhand, I can't recall the brand I currently have, but it used to be very popular round style with a little toggle switch to silence the alarm and with a green and a red LED to show status. There are two displays that connect to the same sensor, which is a white box with a plug-in round sensor element.

Nope, have diesels. :-D

Actually I swore by them on my previous gas boats, had a Xintex model like this with automatic blower function. https://www.fireboy-xintex.com/mb1-3/
