Ya check and make sure the bell has no spider or wasp nests before you do anything else. It's a pretty common cause for them not working.
If it's pooched, get a REAL horn A good air unit with an accumulator tank, not the typical cheap ones with just a little pump. Make her sound like the ship that she is, for bragging rights AND safety.
I should talk, I'm still running electric units but air is on my bucket list when the current ones fail for sure.
Looks like I am going to do something crazy again, then again I own a boat so I must be a little nuts right?
99% sure I will order a set of Kahlenberg D-01 horns in white. Availability is not great no matter where I go so maybe not until end of Sept. Only the best for Midnight Sun! https://www.kahlenberg.com/yachting-model-d-0a.html

Hans, my horn just gave up this year. Did you end up buying a new one. I have never been happy with the pathetic sound that came from mine and thought I would take the opportunity to get something with some balls.
Having read the posts I will try and fix it to see what happens first.
Usually I purchase in the US since it is almost always cheaper. I looked at all the usual places however shipping was very long and even Defender who has the best price 95% of the time was more than purchasing from a distributor in NS Canada, odd but true. I am going for the Kalenberg D-0A and their solenoid valve however the compressor is coming from Amazon.ca. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B000X9 ... UTF8&psc=1 Total price once all is said and done will probably reach $1200 CAD and this is not installed as I will be doing the installation. Not cheap but this will last longer than the boat. If you are looking for something much cheaper then the link I have on page 1 to Amazon would be my choice.
Cheers, Hans
