hi new member, from Montreal
Hi all , I presently have a swift 34 Beneteau 2016 and I'm thinking of selling for the reason of having a bigger boat. I fell upon the Carver MY 43 also the 444. I really enjoyed the layout of these models. As a boater exploring the different models of Carver, it can be very confusing. so basically what should I look out for when I search a model like the 43 or 444 between the years of 2005 -2009. I am planning to go down to the Bahamas with her. Is she seaworthy? can I travel with this boat several miles from the coastline? I have lots of confidence with my Beneteau swift trawler I just don't know if a Carver of those years can be as sturdy as my Swift trawler, any info will appreciated.

There are so few Beneteau boats around it is really hard to compare anything to them. Beneteau does make a really nice solid proven sail boat and I am sure they brought this proven construction to there motor boat line up. Going 10 years back will most likely give you less modern and less reliable equipment simply due to hours of usage however a well maintained boat is well, a well maintained boat. Carvers go to the Bahamas all the time so I see no issue there. I am just north of Montreal and opted for a 2007 CMY41 simply because we fell in love with the view and overall layout. Twin Volvo common rail diesels makes her smoke free and economical. I spend most my time in the 1000 islands region and in fact keep the boat in this area. A huge plus on the 41CMY is 2,6" of draft.
Not a typo.

Nice boat you have there, another model number I didn't know about the "41" which seems very similar to the 43 just smaller, hmm let me know if you think of letting her go....I know someone that might be in the market for one .... meMidnightsun wrote:QR_BBPOST There are so few Beneteau boats around it is really hard to compare anything to them.
