Bow Cushion

Post by jsurfwhite »

I need to replace a bow cushion on my 2000 Carver 356 Aft Deck. I am having a local canvas shop quote it. They cannot source the stitched pleated sections, so they recommend I check with Carver. I have the Carver part number. Anyone used Carver for those kinds of parts? Thanks

Carver won't have that. Your Canvas shop shouldn't have a problem duplicating those cushions in house.
Maybe check another shop or an upholstery shop.

Do you mean this material here? It's usually called channeling fabric.
There are other patterns also.

I called Carver about a month ago for those same cushions for my 2001 356 aft. They said they still can make them and they would take a few weeks, the price was around $1200 if I remember correctly.

Wow, I can't believe they still make those cushions.
I would have bet a bunch of $ that they didn't.

Keep in mind though, if they make them with the snaps attached they won't match the snaps locations on your boat.
They should send them without the snaps attached and you should buy or borrow a snap tool so they match what's on your boat and you don't have to put new holes in the boat.

Wow. Thanks for posting that. I never knew what that was called and wanted to redo my helm seat to make it wider.

Great links. I've used the Sailrite guys before for some Sunbrella stuff and they are great.

Yes, they said they would send the snaps loose so they could be matched to the existing ones.
