Carver 390 - Which switch controls the exterior lights on the sundeck?

Post by boatingbob »

Hi All!

I'm still getting to know my '94 Carver 390 CPMY. Great boat, but I've got a few little electrical nigglies. The aft sundeck has a couple of lights in it that don't come on. In the main salon next to the door leading aft, there are two light switches. One turns on salon lights, and the other just a little light on the stairs leading down to the aft stateroom. Does that also turn on the lights out back on the sundeck? I tried putting a voltmeter on the circuit, but got no power. Could the switch that controls these lights be elsewhere?

Hope you can help!

On my 404 the switch is located inside the aft deck storage locker. There are actually two switches, one for the ceiling lights and one for the curtesy lights next to the steps.

Don't know if you still are looking, but on my 97 325 aft cabin, their is a switch on the flybridge instrument panel that is labeled "cockpit lights" or something like that. It turns on the indirect lights under the panel and also provides power to those aft sundeck lights. One of my "one of these days" projects is to put a switch somewhere on or near the sundeck to control those lights. Silly to have to run the bridge lights just to get power to the sundeck.
