Shower Sump DC breaker size

Post by tonyiiiafl »

1994 390CPMY. Shower sump trips breaker occasionally. Pump is new, so I am suspecting a weak breaker. I have the manuals at home, so I am sure I can find the proper size. However, does anyone know how to get it out of the panel? Looks like there is a catch on right side and a screw holding the breaker to the buss bar. . I slid the catch out but couldn’t get the breaker out. Also any idea of replacement source?

Sorry but have to ask......you did remove the two screws holding it to the panel from the front ??...... ;-)
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Never be sorry! Mine have no screws holding them to the panel. Take the front panel off and the screw holes are empty. it appears the breaker is slid onto the buss bar on left, and a red clip on right. After a little research, looks like a Carling D or G series.

Before you go buy a new one, why don't you swap it with another similarly-rated breaker? That should tell you if it's the breaker or if it's something in the circuit that's causing it to blow.

You don't need to remove it.
Just move the wire to another breaker

I second Bud's thought, check your wiring and connections before condemning the breaker, they do fail on occasion but it's usually the last resort only after confirming everything else in the circuit is okay. I assume you replaced the pump with the same model and amp rating as the old one?
