I am interested in any available owner reviews

I have the 506 which is basically the same boat only longer/wider. We looked at two 466 models before purchasing our 506. I prefer the master stateroom in the 466 to my 506 only because of how the bed is orientated. The 2 main reasons we decided to pass on the 466 and go bigger was the fully enclosed bridge of the 506 and that the 3rd stateroom on the 466 is really only for storage. Other than that, boats are virtually identical. My boat handles well and is easy to manouver at dockside.
Good luck in your search! What ever you are looking at though - get an engine and structural survey.

Be sure to have the hull checked very carefully. I bought a 2002 466 last October. I had the bottom paint removed to do a refresh and found that the entire perimeter of the hull had hairline cracks - all below the water line. Contacted Carver and they admitted that they had a problem that they could not figure out. Of course, it's now out of warranty so I have to do the fix. If my surveyor was carful - he would have seen this. It was noticeable even with the bottom paint. Good luck.

Where did you purchase the 2002 Carver 466? Only reason I ask is that I looked at one in December of 2013 and almost wrote the deal on it - until my surveyor found exactly what you are describing. I walked from the deal and I saw the boat was listed for most of 2014.

We're also looking at an o6 in Florida, upgrading from a 13 ChapSig 310. Have looked at Meridian 459, Meridian 408 and 411, Carver 444 and Voyagers' 46 and 53 and like the 466 the best. Hope we can make the deal work and survey confirms our initial inspection.

My 456 had a couple of waterline hairline cracks , its a 2000. My surveyor suggested I keep an eye on it. that was in 2012. This past summer, 2015, I had the boat out of the water for two weeks for bottom paint and other work. Me and the surveyor didn't notice any increase or further cracking of the gelcoat. Fellow Boaters , keep in mind the gelcoat is only the outer finish on a fiberglass boat .The Hull and other fiberglass components are comprised of many layers of Woven roving , Fiberglass Cloth and Chopped Fiberglas strands . Dont stress too much on hairline cracks .The hull will easily outlive most of us. You could be passing up on an otherwise perfect vessel because of unwarranted hull deficiencies.
