The Carver is my first experience with Vacuflush so not an expert by any means. In all the years I have owned her, the pump has never cycled on it's own unless there was paper in the bowl preventing a proper seal. Not sure where the 5 hour cycle spec comes from. Maybe the older units?
Glad to hear you got her fixed, always a nice feeling of self satisfaction when one finally nails it.
Cheers, Hans

It's a minimum spec as mentioned. If you complained that your unit cycles every 5 hours, they would say it's working within normal operating parameters. That's not to say that it can't go longer than 5 hours without cycling but they have to assign a minimum benchmark.

I'm not a big proponent of Silicone greases, but they're fine for some applications (such as this one). Another great alternative is Teflon grease, which you can get inexpensively at any hardware store. It's also the grease that's recommended for plastic zippers, so it's good to have aboard.
CASE CLOSED…for now! Unit has been shut off since Sunday, Came down this AM at 4:00AM and turned the switch on. Pump never came on. I am closing the book on this successful repair. That is all!
Hello ALL. I just signed up on this site. I have a vacu flush issue to discuss but I see nowhere on the site to create a new post. Where is the magic button to create a new post??
