1994 330 Carver Mariner Offer Pending Survey

I have an offer on the subject boat. Owned it for 23 years. Should I have any concerns on the survey?

Thanks for the reply. Its been a great boat. She's in great condition. I've done a lot of up grades and I have really enjoyed the boat. The time has come to give up boating. I am going to miss her. But, a boat this old, I am hoping that there isn't some unknown problem. Wondering if this boat has some known conditions that I am not aware of.

Apart from some minor stuff that may have been done improperly over the years by others or yourself, the only thing one needs to worry about is humidity levels in the hull, stringers and transom. Probably fine however these are things we do not suspect or see and only a surveyor with the proper equipment can find those problems.

I'd ask for a copy of the whole report, whether or not they go through with the sale. You'll see an independent "analysis" of a boat you know very well and that could be a nice education when you're in the market for a boat in the future.

They will **ALWAYS** find something, even if it's not a big deal. It gives the buyer something to negotiate with, so don't be overly concerned when they come back with some "issues to talk about".

Had the survey. No issues. Close next week. I was concerned due to the age of the boat. It was a 2 1/2 hour survey including a sea trial. Carver Mariner is a great boat. Had her for 23 years, lots of great memories.

Good luck going forward.......see nothing to fret about but I hear ya, I would have been the same. Seems you took great care of the boat. I always envy those that can stay with the same thing ( 23 years wow) and enjoy it year after year.....

I have a 95 with very low hours. I am thinking about selling her and going to a center console a friend is selling. If it is not too nosey, mind telling me your selling price/range? er

That time frame for the survey shocked me though! Our surveyor started at 9am and finished up around 4:30pm. I think we spent almost 2 hours just with the haul-out portion (from pulling into the lift to splash)!
