530 Engine room venting

Hi all has anyone added vents to the side of the hull to get fresh air into where the engines are. I have a 1999 530 and would like to get fresh air into the area as this room is very whilst underway. I know there are blower fans on the transom but would like to install something more direct.. I have found a location just above the water tanks
I have seen some of the later models do have vents on the sides.. if anyone has a set or knows of something similar..

I'd be real surprised if there wasn't sufficient airflow put in there from Carver for those diesels to breathe. After you shutdown it can be an issue because of all the heat from the engines, and that's where I think the blowers can really make a difference.

Have you taken any temperature readings in there while underway? Can you see the "engine intake temperatures" on any of your displays?

Km1125 hit the nail on the head. Those diesels suck in massive amounts of air every minute they are running. Additional vents won’t help. Running the exhaust fans after shut down will speed up engine room cooling.

One other thing to remember ......there may be a design/safety issue with extra vents in the hull sides.

In my 44 CMY, I have 4 bilge blowers that are located over the fuel tanks, two on each side, on the inside of the exterior vents. They draw air from the outside and push it across the top of my diesel engines. They do NOT draw out from the bilge like a gas engine application. I confirmed this with the dealership when I replaced two of my blowers last year. The diesel engines need the clean fresh air as stated by buster53.
