15mm PEX tubing near Jacksonville, FL

Post by KyleR »

Hi all,

Is there anyone in the Jacksonville, FL area that has any 15mm PEX tubing?

Our water heater bit the dust ast week - and I already got a new one along with all the fittings I need. I couldn't find a source for 15mm fittings locally so I did a big order from Defender which came in today.

Unfortunately I only got 2 ft of 15mm tubing as I thought it would be enough. However, now that I'm knee-deep in the project I really want to move some things around which requires a little more tubing than I have. I'm looking for maybe 5-10 ft at the most.

Is anyone local to the Jacksonville, FL area that has any they're willing to sell me? I can order more online but then I won't get it until next week sometime and I'd really like to finish this project up this weekend.

Thanks to anyone who might be able to help! We have access to a car so we can drive to meet you.

Kyle, you can get John Guest Fittings to go from the old 15mm to the newer 1/2" quest pex. I personally would not try to add any 15 mm pipe.

Do you have west marine stores in the area ? Really any marine supply stores , yards etc will or should have that hose and fittings I would think....good luck with the project.
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Thanks! I've called 3 marinas and two boat supplies places this morning with no luck. I did find a 10meter roll at West Marine for $66 as a last resort - although I really have no use for that much or want to pay $2/ft when I can get it at Defender for 0.79/ft - but there is something to be said for getting it now! :-D

The local Home Depot may have this. Read this for explanation. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3228&p=20983&hilit=blu+lock#p20983

I've tried the 1/2" stuff when I replaced our sink but it was just a tad too big for the 15mm fittings I had purchased. I like Tom's idea of just getting a 15mm to 1/2" adapter - then parts become plentiful!!

Thanks for the suggestion though!

The issue is some will be 1/2" and others 15mm. Today is fine you will remember what you did but after you or the next owner will be scratching their heads wondering what the heck. ;-)

The Blu-Lock stuff I pointed to IS 15mm OD although it is advertised as 1/2" tube.
