I've installed a couple of these for people who bought them. They have the spread but they're not bright enough IMO. I guess it's all relative and what one considers to be bright enough for their needs.

I bought the cheap ones from Overtons and mounted them on the trim tabs of my Silverton. for $30 each they worked incredible, way better than any of the drain plug ones.

I'd like to see those if you have a link or any pictures of them please. Did you install them yourself? TIA

Here are some pictures from the year I sold her, 2013. Keep in mind that both are in fairly murkey water. I mounted them directly on the trim tabs, 2 lights on each tab. I installed them myself, acutually mounted the lights on land but didn't get them wired up until after launch. These are the identical lights I installed on my buddies 355 last winter. Conincidently, we just talked today and are installing 4 more on his boat. With lights, its all "go big or go home"....nobody has ever been overheard as saying "those underwater lights are TOO bright" lol...

Yes they are only listed at 120 degree spread, so I'm awaiting a tri-light holder and put 3 of these bad boys in. The ones I got don't look like the ones the girls have on their necks, sex sells, these lights are right in the plug head and have a fisheye lens I think. Any how going to give them a try. Happy boating all, hopefully we'll be in by the middle of next month.

Well I found the way! The Aft Bilge is located under the aft berth night stand. The bilge is mounted on an L bracket along with the float. Under this bracket is a bulk head hole to the back of the boat. From the drain hole with the scope you go thru 2 bulk head holes and there was the wire I fed under the Bilge Pump Bracket. BINGO! Pulled the wire thru the drain hole, hooked up the drain plug lights. Now all I got to do is locate an easy 12volt source, put in my $2.00 wireless remote controller and we will have drain plug underwater lights! Thanks all for your input, it was all greatly appreciated! Mike

Mike,
My buddy's 355 had a 12v fixture light at the top of the bed - I tapped into that and installed a wireless remote control with dimmer.

Well after all the hoopla, it was a straight shot from the drain plug, up under the aft bilge l-shaped mounting bracket, past the aft vac-u-flush tank, and to the aft shower sump. All hooked in and man are they bright. Working with a scope is a bit of a challenge, things a little distorted on a 2" screen and trying to determine what's up and what's down! Never the less it's DONE!
