Thanks......I think it happened when I crossed the wires....but with that being said, My a/c water pump was plugging up due to all the grass floating down the river. I will try it.

There is no breaker on the gen. I'm kind of lost.

There is not any fuses except the 3 12v ones. They are good. If the water pump is plugged with something will the generator still run? I find it hard to believe that there is a sensor there for that. I could be wrong.

is there a sensor for the water flow on the gen? I don't think there is but i has grass plugging up my air water inlet.

What kind of gen is it, that may help for the guys that have the same kind/model to assist you.I can't answer about the sensor... the 12volt fuses are the ones I was thinking may be there to check, past that Im out...

If the generator is not getting water....like from the filter, will it run at all? Not sure if there is a safety sensor in place for this. I did have my ac water pump slowly decreasing in flow due to grass plugging the inlet.

Most generators will run without water flow, but will shut off when they overheat. If you post the make and model, someone here most likely has a manual.

There should be 2 start/run switches. One on the panel and one on the generator. Are both switches producing the same results? Possible ur shorting and sparking took out the start switch on the generator. Or u fried the electrical system on the generator somewhere.

When you say you "shorted a power and ground"... was that a 12vdc circuit or a A.C. circuit. If it was A.C., was the generator running at the time you shorted it?

I still cannot get my gen to run. I checked all my censers and all checks ok. I'm wondering if the gen has a censer for water flow. I did have to clean the water inlet for the ac units. We have had high water and had grass plugging it. Any ideas?
