Yeah I think looks very nice too. Great idea with adding some extra storage.

We were planning on doing the improvement from the time we bought the boat over a year ago, but thought we would do it in the spring of 2022. Then our 2021 plans to go into Canada to complete that portion of the Great Loop fell apart with border closings until early August and then our port transmission failed. We decided to "make lemonade" for the next 6 weeks and completed a lot of projects around the boat including the seat change/alteration, the floor modification in front of that seat, and a lot of cosmetic changes inside such as redoing the shades in the head and aft stateroom. We put in an additional smaller opening zipper the Bimini cover aft of the flybridge to make it easier to get ventilation. By far, the hardest/longest project was redoing the floor to raise it up to match the area in front of the helm seat. Recut the carpet and added a contrasting edging where the new step is to make it less of a trip hazard. Let me know if anyone wants pictures of that part of the project.
By the way, it took 3 months to get the transmission removed, repaired, and reinstalled.

The hardest part of that project was raising and extending the floor in front of the "passenger" seat. Not essential, but a great addition in our opinion. That minimized the trip hazard, is more comfortable for seating (at least for long legged crew), and provides more room to bring cables and wires back from under the helm.
Let me know if anyone wants to see pictures of that part of the project.

More pictures? SURE! I'm not quite understanding where you raised the floor.
Also curious on the transmission issue. What made it take 3 months to resolve?

Thanks. It really improved the seating. The visibility for the crew is much improved and there is more storage as well.

Thanks. It was a good improvement for visibility in crew seating. Got some extra storage also.

Regarding the transmission repair delay--who knows? First there was a 2.5 week delay just getting the transmission removed. Then it was shipped a short distance to Detroit for factory repair, but I didn't hear anything for about another 45 days and then it was to tell me that everything was "trashed" including the case. That meant finding another transmission. I think the one they found was from Florida. Then it was another week or so before it was reinstalled. Blame it on your choice of: Parts shortage; Pandemic labor shortage; Repair backup; Mechanics who take their good-ol'-time; Karma.
Anyway, hopefully all will be working by May.
