So becdan3, whatever happened with that boat purchase? Had I seen you post earlier, I would have chimed in. I bought a '95 Carver Mariner with 311 hours on gas Crusaders. Had the same concern you did. Hired a very good mechanic to go through mechanical systems. He was shocked at how "new" the engines tested out with compression tests on each cylinder, as well as oil analysis etc. His basic feel was "let me know if you do not buy this boat, I want it ". He is a good friend of mine so he was biased to me if anybody. There are times a low hour vessel means something negative, but there are also times when owners decide they just don't use it enough, considering the maintenance to leave it sit.
