Yes I agree on tightening them up mjk1040. I watched a video before attempting to tighten the gland. Being a automotive service and parts manager for 25 years, and I always take a few minutes and research before I screw something up. Lol

So it appears to stop with the rightey and drip a constant stream when I loosen to the left. I will be doing more research on this issue before attempting to replace the glands.

Whilst we are on this, good practice for adjusting any packing glands is to loosen them first to allow the water to flush any bits out then readjust remembering how many flats on the nut it took to loosen then to get back to the starting point.
Of course this is only done after the packing has been in service for a while....... :popcorn: .... :beergood:
