Would you believe some people still have carburetors on their engines.SplashyLady wrote:QR_BBPOSTYou don't have electronic ignition now? Still using points and condenser?
In the automotive world this is unheard of but in boats it is quite common.

One thing about points and carbs is they are easy fixes for us old guys...
FWIW.....The above is just my opinion.

Knock on fiberglass, as of mid last season, everything on my boat was working properly, all gauges, meters lights etc. So other than cleaning, compounding and waxing, my hope for other projects this year is emptying fuel tanks and beer cans!

Yep, and it is working well. That is how the boat came when I bought it. Was planning to do the electronic ignition thingy last year but I needed a new inflatable so I bought that. Hoping nothing else goes wrong so I can do the electronic ignition this year.

Yep, both engines have carburetors, Not planning to change that. It is an 81. Not sure when Carver converted over to fuel injection. Even my 1999 Bayliner 3055 Ciera was carbureted. They went to fuel injection sometime after 1999.

Believe it or not, you could still get carb engines on a new boat in 2017. I believe as of this year they are all fuel injected.
