I would not worry too much about the "moulded water tight" thing. Think about this for a minute. The cord you use now with standard twist lock connector is not sealed by any means. There is no sealing or maybe I should say very poor sealing between where the plug actually mates from the female end and the male prongs. Rain and wind will get between there all the time so even if the molded parts 6" away is water proof it serves little purpose although a good seal will always be beneficial and I also prefer this.
The boat end is Smartplug which has a nice rubber seal, not molded but none the less very good tight fit, definitely rain proof. The prong end is definitely rainproof as it is triple sealed.
Used Furrion connectors for pedestal connections which are well made. IMHO better than any other ones I could find.
This is the connector. https://www.defender.com/product3.jsp?p ... id=1356560
Marinco and Hubble also make "Marine" connectors.
Not that it is required but I added a cover to it to incorporate a locking ring. Problem is pedestals do not have locking ring threads or at least most marinas I have visited do not. Since I use a reverse Y adapter to plug into my pedestals dual 30a, the locking ring does come in handy. Here is a link showing all the Furrion product both for 50a and 30a. Hurry, they are on sale.

I did not want to have a yellow end on the black cord so I opted for a titanium color cover. https://www.arizonarvpartscenter.com/fu ... 5-0889.htm
I am ahead of my time.
Looking for a link to the connectors I used I came across this. The new "revolutionary" cord they are using is Seoprene which is a trademark of Southwire SEOOW which happens to be exactly what I used and linked to on post #1. https://smartplug.com/introducing-new-5 ... -smartplug
