It looks like it has the same 5/8" fittings.....

This is a sign that the vent hose is not looped up above the discharge fitting first, then back down to it. That way any water that gets in through the fitting would have to go uphill. This is a common practice with vent hose routing including fuel, water tank, etc. Always the best way to do it, mind you if you overfill the tank, you'll get liquid and solids in the filter too.
