GRET idea of the spec plate.....however, it is missing! I have narrowed it down to a certain spec by what parts are on it. It was not easy, but I seem to get the proper parts now. I have learned when I see a NLA part and find 1 or 2, I buy both. I didn’t need a voltage regulator but found one and it is on my Kohler shelf.

That's a good practice Tony, I used to do the same thing with an Onan MCCK I had on a previous boat. You think your Kohler is hard to get parts for, try getting some parts for an MCCK, and if you're lucky enough to find what you're looking for, you gotta work overtime to help pay for it! The web sure helps, how did we ever find anything without it.

You are SO right! Some of the parts I have found and bought are production stamped 2012! And as for sourcing them, I also shake my head at how we did it. Much akin to the telephone book, or when we dialed directory assistance (411) and I remember hearing the operator turning ages!

I think we are both on teh right track. Also, having to write to the manufacturer, or go to the LIBRARY to research! Now we have the world at our hands and the vast knowledge of membership to help us out. Where will it go in 20 years!

We won't have to worry about finding parts, it'll be virtual boating.

Here it is, Labor Day weekend. We left Friday AM, ran genset each AM for 2 hours, and each evening for 2 hours. Total of 16 hours. She never missed a beat. I will never say it is all solved, but will say it is working well for now!
