I have a 2003 366 with diesels. I initally looked at one with Volvos - but was lucky enough to find one with twin 280HP Cummins. I have over 40 yrs of experience with motor boats & had gas engines in smaller boats up to 30ft but over that, I believe diesels win out every time. The 366 is a large heavy boat with significant windage and I am very happy with the diesels particularly when I want to get up out of the water and onto the plane. They are of course more costly to buy initially but no matter how long you keep the boat it will always still command a premium over a gas powered boat. We bought this boat when I retired 4 years ago at 70 yrs with 100hrs on it & are now at 400hrs - we just love it. The layout is perfect for the 2 of us plus guests from time to time including safe areas on board for small grandchildren. Be careful of the models with the small 3 ltr Volvos with both supercharger & turbo - I'd say avoid them.
