Wow, thanks Viper. I didn't know that. Personally I would be nervous about that arrangement on a gas boat. I've seen two boat fires in the shy 3 1/2 years I've been on the water. That said, a sunk boat from a failed front bilge pump is no better. Now you have me wondering which has the greater probability of occurring.... Hm.

Mine (2827) was put onto stands in the yard with the bow down (I didn't notice at the time) and water collected in the forecabin really quite badly - during lockdown, when I wasn't able to visit). Hosepipes and handpumps, and a dehumidifier on full throttle - dry now. The fore bilge pump didn't catch any of it. Reason for it was that the drain outlets on the cockpit deck simply didn't collect any water as they're at the very back, while the two smaller outlets at the front of the deck clogged up with seagull crap and any other detritus in the air, and so all the rainwater overflowed into the engine space.
Lessons learned!
