You can make slight adjustments but you'll never track as well as you would with opposing rotations. The adjustments to try and compensate, while they will have a slight effect will affect performance albeit slight but likely measurable in your application. Your current setup isn't ideal for easy maneuverability either but that is something you'll eventually get the hang of with some practice.
What are you having done to the drives? If there is any dismantling involved, that would be the time to inquire about the cost to convert one of them to a counter rotator or replace the lower with a used/rebuilt counter rotator. Just a thought or maybe something to consider if one of them need major work in the future.
