Head raw water inlet location?

What does the hose/tube look like that supplies the toilet? My boat does not have a raw water intake, draws water from the potable water tank. This is rather common for boats in salt water applications to avoid weird smelly salt water critters from stinking up your holding tank. If the hose is pex style yours will most likely be like mine, if rubber than probably raw water intake. Being the boat is an 85, it may have been modified by a previous owner.

Can you not just follow the water supply line which goes to the head? There must be a panel or 2 that you can unscrew to see where it goes.

I was thinking along the same lines, if you can't find a seacock, it may be running off fresh water instead. I would expect that model and vintage to be a raw water system but there were fresh water options at that time, and you don't know what previous owners have done.

What make and model is the head? Do you pump a handle, or push a button or pedal to flush?

It's not PEX tuning...kinda like a yellow reinforced vinyl...like a glorified garden hose. I've traced it as far as I can see...it vanished headed up out of sight but I'm thinking that may be the high loop and it comes back down and to the bilge. I'll be back in town Sunday and will look some more. It's a 1985 3227.

You may not even have raw water intake. Carver built a lot of models with Raritan head systems, using the onboard water tank as water source. Especially true if it is electric. Raritan discouraged raw water intake for potential debris blockage source, like seaweed or sand. The sand would act like sandpaper in the system flow. er

I think we may be making this a lot more difficult than needed. if it is a factory freshwater flush head, the "flushing" water should not be piped into the macerator assembly at he base of the toilet. it should go directly to the bowl. There should not even be the in and out 3/4" connections. If it is piped to the macerator, then it is a raw water flush or has been converted improperly to fresh water flush.
Take a pic of the base of the head. Also, when you follow the piping, did you see a solenoid valve?
Also, turn on the fresh water pump with water in the tank and see if you get water when you flush.

Found it...under the mid-berth mattress...give that man a prize! Thanks to all who replied...very much appreciated! Now for a related issue...I see that the forward bilge pump is in that same area. I pumped it 'dry' and then noticed the area under the galley deck has water in the bilge that didn't seem to go down after pumping. Two questions: Does the keel have a slight forward slope right at the galley? What is that access for? All I could see was what looks like a drain line for the shower.

You should have a sump box for the shower and also AC condensate if you have an AC. It will be a plastic box, maybe 8 x 10 with the shower drain hose draining into it. It will be close to the shower drain, probably not more than 2’ away.

Yes it does from what I remember, the access is good cause you can dry the bilge from there and my guess, it could be there to access options you may not have.

Oh do you have the parkay style flooring in the galley area ?
