The "right stuff" will stick and seal pretty much anything, ultra black is not far behind.......have you considered heli coils/larger bolts to fasten the lid ?

Would first like to thank all for their help. Finally got the boat in the water and drives seem to work perfectly. No noise, no vibration and no water signs anywhere. As we all know boats just love to eat money out of our pockets so here's the kicker. Finished the shakedown cruise and put her on her mooring for the first time. Shut the 1/4 turn seacock on the starboard motor then went to shut the port side and the handle broke off in my hand. Started to leak around the handle hole. Here we are last week in June and she's back on the hard. Impossible to get any leverage on the wrench to remove the damned thing and replace it. Any tricks out there for getting this done? Thank you all for any suggestions. Jeff :banghead:

Jeff, I don't know what your access situation is, but you can usually get a pair of short pipe wrenches in to change the valve. You do need to get a wrench under the valve in there or there is a chance for breaking loose the thru hull. Then you have a whole new set of problems. :banghead:
