Yes, crap does happens to the best of us.
Kinda embarrassed to admit this but what the heck. :-D

Last year I put on my winter tires like I always do in my shop. Have a set mounted to wheels so not a big deal. Needless to say this is not my daily job however during the install I was interrupted and had to do other stuff a few times before I was able to complete the work. Left the shop and about a kilometre away I heard a small clunk, clunk sound. Stopped the car and checked the lugs. Yep, with all the interruptions I skipped torquing one wheel. Put the summers on both my wife's car and mine not too long ago. This time I triple checked the nuts. ;-)

Anyone sign one of these in your marina agreement.....

Hold Harmless – the hold harmless provision of the indemnification clause absolves the second party of any blame for any loss caused by the first party's negligence, after the loss has been determined by litigation, arbitration or settlement.

There may be reference to this clause in your yacht insurance.

Never seen that before. Sounds like they cannot be held responsible unless they are taken to court and proven guilty which would take years and probably cost you more than a new engine at the end of the day.

When I ran aground there were no arguments with the insurance people. I paid the deductible and they paid all the repair bills including loss of pleasure. (boating time)
