Yea, I'm really wondering if the PO tied that new charger breaker directly into the AC Shore mains instead of the transfer switch. Do you know where the transfer switch is? I'm not sure where they located it on the 3607, because mine didn't even have a genset.

Well - looks like the charger is getting some kind of power from the generator. There were a couple of points inside that had power in relation to ground when the generator was running. One point we monitored was at 220 volts which seems very odd. At this point the charger will be replaced as part of a electrical / crusing overhaul for next season but there is the possibility that the issue is with the generator.

Just going to leave an update on this one. We did replace the original charger with a 50 amp ProNautic and while it worked fine off of shore power it would consistently revert to a self test when on generator power. Called ProNautic support and they suggested checking the frequency of the power to make sure it was 60 HZ. Sure enough , generator was putting out 115V at 58 HZ. Bumped the Genny up to 120V at 59.4 HZ and the charger worked just fine. So if you do run into funky issues check your power frequency as well as voltage.

Good update! I'm REALLY surprised that a charger (ANY charger) would be sensitive to the line frequency, as they just rectify it to DC to do all the 'work'!!
