I always just though mine was 37" however Steve measured so this must be correct. Odd how it is advertised everywhere as 37" though. Will make a point to make an accurate measurement in a month or so when I get access to the boat. I can understand a couple of inches but we are talking 13" difference between advertised and real world. My config would be the worst with the weight of the diesels on board.

I have measured my boat while on the hard and it is the same as stated in the specs at 42”. My buddy did the same and his draft was off by 7” ,deeper, on his 2007 Carver 43 MY than the documented specs.

The same boat outfitted with Diesel vs Gas are much heavier and should impact the the draft.

Agreed however no more than an inch or so. A full tank of fuel and water is more than diesel powered weight difference compared to gas powered and this is quite negligible.

Too bad Carver isn't still around to explain these discrepancies. A couple inches is one thing but a foot or more is a problem.

The old diesels are a great deal heavier than the new ones, plus the weight of the trans , shafts, props associated with them. Fyi, our old boat would be a good 3" or so deeper in the water when all the tanks were full, different hull designs are going to react differently to weight....a friends ( different boat around the same length ) was a good 5 or 6 when he left for holidays....also a moving boat is closer to the bottom at times , good points to remember.

I don't believe that the specs in these guide books are always correct, best case, measure your own.
