Once you take the top off, it will all be clear......well clear after the cleaning that is.....

We have the same boat. It is old water in the condensation pans of the air conditioner. If you put a small amount of bleach in the pan it will go away

I clean my holding tank with Borax and dawn soap. Flush it down the toilet and let it sit in there for a while. Use the boat to slosh it around. Seems to work very well.

Dissolve a cup of Borax in a large container of hot water. Then add a half cup of dawn soap into the mix and pour into the tank through the toilet. We will leave the solution in the tank for days until we pump out. You can use the toilets while the solution is doing its job. You should do it more than once depending on how bad they are.

If you find that your shower sumps are creating an odour in your boat, which they can, after cleaning them we put a urinal puck in the shower sump box, but not interfere with the float switch. Seems to do the trick.

Another thing that we have found that can give off an odour is the “P” trap in the sinks if we are not around the boat for a bit. When we leave, the Admiral will put a cleaner in the drain and leave it there till it gets used again upon our return.

Stagnant water can be the source of a lot of odour issues in boats. Sometimes can be thought to be the holding tank issue.

If your boat does not have holding tank vent filters, its a good idea to install them. There is a product available on line called the Big Orange. They are great because you can refill them with carbon when it needs to be replaced. The other great feature with the Big Orange it has a valve in it in case the filter gets plugged with water or waste. Bigorangefilter.com. They come in two different sizes.

Pet peeve of mine as almost all AC units are installed by amateurs from the get go. When I install a unit my priority is to slope the unit so that water does not stay in the pan. There are usually a few outlets to chose from for draining so I work with that. Never is there any standing water except for a few drops on one of my installs.
